This is the kind of game in which your avatar is constantly wiping goop, ooze, and alien guts off their helmet visor. Commando is in many ways a startling change from the vast majority of Star Wars games, which generally focus on precise lightsaber button-combos or superheroic Force powers. Beyond just the general fast-paced FPS flavor, Commando feels even more like Doom specifically because it’s the rare Star Wars game to feature projectile firearms in addition to lasers: a shotgun. In terms of its tactical, squad-based approach, Republic Commando is most reminiscent of games like Rainbow Six, but it moves with the speed and agility of a Doom or Wolfenstein, a throwback to the alleged “Doom Clone” Dark Forces. Though your allies making dumb mistakes can get a little frustrating.Recently remastered for Switch and PS4 by Aspyr Media, Republic Commando is not just a story about the Galactic Republic’s commando elite-it’s one of the elite shooters of its era. I'd recommend it for anyone who likes star wars and fps games. It's a rather short game but it's a really good ride through it.
The graphics are impressive, along with the music if you listen. Language is not an issue, though sometimes your allies will swear and such.
As killing the bug like geonosians cause blood to splatter across your helm/screen which is quickly cleared by a laser like windshield wiper. They may be good at taking cover, but sometimes they like to run up to droids and such and try to melee. Though at times they can easily get overwhelmed, especially by just 2 super battle droids. Your team is pretty impressive for Artificial Intelligence. The game itself is rather linear, so you never get lost. The game starts you at the frantic battle at the Geonosis arena outside, you have to battle your way to a droid star ship before it launches. Your team consists of a sniper,demo expert, and a computer expert. But you play as a clone commander, a elite among the basic troops. Republic commando takes yet another interesting turn on the star wars universe.
